Justin Timberlake Appears to Joke During Boston Concert About DUI Arrest | Ents & Arts News

Justin Timberlake appeared to joke about his recent drunk driving arrest during a concert in Boston.

Grammy Award-winning pop star arrested in Sag Harbor, a wealthy village in the Hamptons in New York state, last month.

In a video shared on social media over the weekend, Timberlake tells the crowd at Boston's TD Garden: “Is there anybody out here driving, no, I'm just kidding.”

Fans appear to be laughing and cheering for him as he continues to address the crowd.

The Sag Harbor Village Police Department said Timberlake was arrested at 12:37 a.m. local time (5:27 a.m. UK time) on Tuesday, June 18 after officers observed him “failing to stop at a traffic sign”. “duly posted stop and failing to maintain lane” while driving a BMW.

A police officer described his eyes as “bloodshot and glassy” and said a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanated from his breath,” according to court documents.

“He was unable to divide his attention, he had slow speech, he was unsteady in his movements, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” court documents add.

A source told Page Six, the New York Post's celebrity and entertainment site, that Timberlake said “under his breath” during his arrest: “This is going to ruin the tour.”

Timberlake has strongly denied the allegations, with his lawyer saying he is looking forward to “defend vigorously” the singer.

The 43-year-old, who first rose to prominence as a member of pop group NSYNC, was detained overnight after his arrest until he was arraigned at Magistrates Court from Sag Harbor Village and released.

A court date is scheduled for July 26.
