Jury returns guilty verdict for brutal 2021 Rochester stabbing

Rochester, Minn. (KROC-AM News) – An Olmsted County jury has convicted a Mississippi man accused of a 2021 Rochester stabbing.

Trashun Haywood, 22 years old of Olive Branch, MS, was charged with first and second degree assault following a stabbing at a northwest Rochester apartment complex on Christmas Eve 2021.

Haywood, who was 20 at the time, was accused of repeatedly stabbing a 26-year-old Rochester man with a pocket knife after the two men got into an argument.

The argument and stabbing took place early on the morning of the holiday.

The court document says the victim suffered stab wounds to the neck, abdomen and arm that required medical staff at St. Mary's Hospital emergency department to take “life-saving measures.”
