Joyboy's wish to pass on the ancient weapons could be his attempt to save the world, not destroy it

In the last One piece chapter, Vegapunk revealed that Joy Boy had intended to pass down the ancient weapons to the next generation. He also added that because of this, he could no longer tell whether Joy Boy was a good or bad entity.

After all, why would any sane person want to pass on deadly weapons unless they want to continue the trend of violence? Yet one theory states that Joy Boy's intentions were the exact opposite.

Why did Joy Boy want to pass on the ancient weapons?

Any type of machine is a tool without good or bad intentions. Ancient weapons are feared because they are in the hands of an exploitative and oppressive world government. However, in the hands of those who want to protect the world, they could transform into something else.

Spoiler alert!

Spoilers for the One Piece manga ahead

In order to understand that Ancient Weapons are not only destructive, let's look at them in detail. Shirahoshi, better known as Cry-hoshi, is the ancient weapon Poseidon who can summon Sea Kings and make them do his bidding.

The very first ancient weapon introduced in One Piece is Pluto. Crocodile was looking for it during the Alabasta Saga, but was unable to acquire it. It was mentioned that Pluto is a giant warship capable of vaporizing an entire island in one fell swoop.

Finally, Uranus, which is most likely in the possession of the World Government and was used to destroy Lulusia. It was powered by the piece of Mother Flame stolen by York. From this account, ancient weapons appear to be senseless murder weapons.

But what if they were never intended to cause harm? What if Joy Boy wanted to pass them on because of their potential to make the world a better place? What if Joy Boy knew that the need for these weapons would arise again if the world were engulfed in terror and corruption?

Can ancient weapons be put to good use in One piece?

The time when ancient weapons were created was supposed to be a time of great achievements. These ancient weapons could have purposes other than destruction. Think about Shirahoshi, do you really think she would agree to participate in the destruction?

His powers may be frightening, but that's only because they're viewed through the lens of World Government terror. His powers are not evil by origin. Sea Kings could also be used to help humans thrive. If Shirahoshi can control them, no more innocent lives will be lost to these enormous monsters.

Pluto is connected to Zunesha and is said to have enough power to destroy an island in one fell swoop. But what if its powers could also be used for land allocation? Zunesha was originally responsible for moving huge mechanisms, so it all comes together and hints that with Pluto's help, the world could be saved from another great flood.

On the other hand, Momonosuke is the only individual capable of communicating with Zunesha. If the power to control Pluto resides in Monomosuke, the risk of catastrophe is significantly less.

The only one that still remains unclear is Uranus. The show hasn't revealed much about it yet, other than the fact that it destroyed Lulusia. But one thing is obvious: all these weapons together could help Luffy's cause and reshape the world towards prosperity.
