A southern Indiana man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for child molestation. Waylon Schlichtkrull, 37, pleaded guilty Monday to felony child molestation, according to Jefferson County, Indiana, District Attorney David Sutter. Prosecutors say Schlichtkrull sexually abused a child for more than four years and threatened to hurt the victim's family if they told anyone. “This child endured years of abuse from a man the victim knew,” Sutter said. “While this sentence cannot erase what the child suffered, I hope this lengthy sentence will bring some justice to the family.” will have seven years suspended on supervised probation, as well as credit for time served since his arrest in January. He will also have to register as a sex offender once he is released.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Indiana —

A southern Indiana man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for child molestation.
