Jay-Z Called 'Cap' Over Beanie Sigel's Alleged Betrayal, Joe Budden Reveals

Lately, fans have looked back at Beanie Sigel's 2004 attempted murder trial and questioned Jay-Z's allegedly questionable testimony. According to former Roc-A-Fella rapper Oschino, even though he spoke out, it didn't help Sigel much. Earlier this month he said Say cheese that when asked whether or not he was ready to be held legally responsible for Sigel's actions, Jay-Z told the judge no.

Of course, this sparked debate over whether Jay-Z was wrong or not. It even sparked a discussion about The Joe Budden Podcast. For the most part, Budden and his co-hosts agreed they would have done the same thing if they were in his shoes, and didn't fault him for avoiding responsibility. They, however, questioned why Jay-Z decided to show up in court in the first place if he wasn't willing to fully vouch for Sigel.

Joe Budden remembers Jay-Z's text

Now, during another recent podcast episode, Budden revealed that he received a text from Jay-Z about the segment after it went live. According to him, upon reading it, he suspected the tycoon of being under influence. “He says cap, the cap of history,” explained the personality. “He said, 'Some shit is so stupid, you think it won't grow legs, but then you niggas…'” Budden later apologized for discussing it, jokingly calling himself a “rat ” and noting that it’s none of his business.

While Jay-Z apparently denies refusing to vouch for Sigel on the stand, Oschino insisted he saw it with his own eyes and said he was surprised by it. “I just thought, 'Why did he come to court then?' If I have a friend and all I have to say is, 'I'm responsible for him coming out,' I say it every time,” he argued. What do you think of Joe Budden saying that Jay-Z texted him about his podcast segment about his testimony during Beanie Sigel's attempted murder trial.
