Debbie Duncan, 55, announced Thursday that she was withdrawing some of the money raised on GoFundMe to fund search efforts, as she promised the teen's loved ones would not give up hope and would return home with him .

It comes as local mayor of the city of Santiago del Teide, Emilio José Navarro, said Spanish police had spoken to several people who believed they saw the 19-year-old watching Euro 2024 matches after his last contact with friends.

Police are examining grainy CCTV footage from the town, located around three and a half kilometers from the Teno Rural Mountain Park – its last known location – to determine whether it was a sighting of the apprentice mason.

The image, shared by the family with the media, shows a person walking in the city and was captured about 10 hours after Jay's phone last received a signal.
