Jay Slater: TV investigator says 'there are people who know better'

“What we don't know is why, if they were partying here, they went to a vacation rental about an hour away in a very isolated location. I don't know the answer to that question, but I'm focusing on that to find these people I'm giving them the opportunity to come forward, they're crucial witnesses and to ask questions that might provide answers.

Speaking about the possible CCTV sighting of Jay in the village of Santiago del Teide on Monday evening, Mark added: “It's not the best footage. Yes, it could be him, but if you walk around that area you I see a lot of young men who look like Jay, dress like Jay, and have bleached skin like Jay.

“One of the things that worries me is where was he in those eight hours before he ended up in this place. To get back to this village, you would have had to walk on the road.

“We don't know where he's going. What we need to know is, did anyone arrive in that area that morning? It's a busy area, both with tourists and people. locals, if you've seen Jay, let us know. Anyone, let us know.

Mark says there are “two scenarios”, adding: “Either he was injured by accident, somewhere in the hills, but not directly by the rental.” Or there is a third party involved. I cannot rule out this possibility at the moment. »
