Jason Derulo Recalls Terrifying Near-Death Experience

Jason Derulo has opened up about a terrifying accident in which he broke his neck and nearly killed himself.

He brought this up during an interview with Paris Hilton on her podcast I am Paris.

Speaking about the accident, the singer recalled: “I had organised this tour – it was the biggest tour of my life at that point.”

To prepare for his tour, the singer trained with a trainer who repeatedly told him to do backflips. He said: “He had me do about 50 backflips in a row, which is one of the worst ideas anyone has ever had. So I slipped during one of the backflips and landed on my head, breaking my C2 vertebra.”

The singer admitted that it was at that moment that he immediately thought he might die from his injury.

Regarding the accident, Derulo recalled that once he arrived at the hospital and after undergoing X-rays and other tests, the doctor came with the diagnosis and informed him saying: “You are still here with us and you can move all your limbs. The bad news is that you are going to be out for seven months.”

During his recovery process, Derulo found a way to maintain his productivity by creating a routine for himself, and during this time he wrote his most successful album, the Speak vulgarly album, which hadSpeak vulgarly,Other side, Marry me,Stir— all kinds of hits from this album.
