Jamestown man arrested for suspended motorcycle license and registration, fentanyl

(WJET/WFXP) – Police noticed a motorcycle driver not wearing proper safety equipment Saturday evening.

Around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, officers with the Jamestown Police Department noticed that a motorcycle driver was not wearing proper safety equipment and that the motorcycle had suspended and expired registration and no insurance.


Officers were aware that the driver, a 24-year-old Jamestown man, had an outstanding arrest warrant with the Jamestown Police Department as well as a suspended driver's license.

As he attempted to arrest the man, he allegedly pulled out a penknife to resist arrest. Police arrested him after a brief struggle.

Before his arrest, police found a quantity of fentanyl on him.

The man was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, criminal mischief, criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest and numerous traffic violations.

He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he is being held pending arraignment.
