Jacksonville Police Investigate Teen's Drowning Saturday | News

Jacksonville police are investigating the drowning of a 15-year-old over the weekend.On Saturday around 3:50 p.m., Jacksonville Fire and Emergency Services responded to Holiday City Community Homes on Corbin Street in reference to an unresponsive juvenile, according to a JPD press release from the weekend.Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered that a 15-year-old female had been recovered from a swimming pool where bystanders were administering CPR. Emergency services took rescue measures, without success, and the victim was pronounced dead on the spot.The release said the medical examiner's office is assisting in the investigation.“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family,” said Jacksonville Public Safety Director Michael Yaniero.This is an active and ongoing investigation.
