ITV 'replacement' of Vera identified as record-breaking drama launch

Vera fans still have a while to wait before they can watch the final episodes of the much-loved drama series, but in the meantime, there's a new series that's just launched that seems like a very suitable replacement and which has already broken records on the other side of the world.

And all the lovers of all things Vera might want to pay a visit to the ITVX streaming service, because a new series has just been released there, which, apart from already being a huge hit, stars a star main who is a big fan. of Vera. The Australian drama Bay of Fires focuses on Stella, a single mother of two, who has no choice but to trust a stranger and move her family to a place called Mystery Bay which is extremely isolated.


It doesn't take long for Stella to realize that her new surroundings are far from idyllic and that it is in fact an isolated community rife with crime, bitter feuds, and sometimes even murder. Bay of Fires was the most-watched drama series on Australia's ABC last year. breaking audience records in the process and, speaking to the Express, lead actress and producer Marta Dusseldorp spoke about Vera's popularity in the US, saying: “We love Vera in Australia, I don't know why but it works.”
