Israeli forces located and destroyed weapons caches inside a Gaza university and residential homes, as well as a rocket launch site located inside a humanitarian zone, the Israeli army announced on Sunday.

The army said combat teams eliminated dozens of terrorists, located tunnel shafts and seized weapons caches in the central Gaza areas of Al-Zahra, the outskirts of Nuseirat, and Al -Omdan, on the outskirts of Gaza City.

One raid targeted an unspecified university that was used by Hamas as a headquarters and from which the terrorists fired on troops. Soldiers seized weapons and barrel bombs found on the university campus.

Additionally, over the weekend, an Israeli drone destroyed a Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket launch site set up in a designated humanitarian zone in the Khan Yunis region.

“Terrorist organizations continue to place terrorist weapons and infrastructure at the heart of the civilian population, endangering them and using them as human shields,” the military said in a statement.

The Israeli military also released images of weapons and tunnel shafts discovered inside residential buildings in Rafah. Troops located grenades, explosives, a rocket launcher, anti-tank missiles, ammunition and other weapons hidden in the cabinets. In one house, a tunnel shaft was discovered under a child's bed. The soldiers also discovered that Hamas had drilled holes in the walls of neighboring houses to allow terrorist squads to pass through the buildings without venturing into the streets. During an airstrike, secondary explosions were observed, indicating the presence of a large number of weapons.
