The Israeli army has confirmed the death of Yotam Ovadia, 31, killed by a terrorist in a stabbing attack in the settlement of Geva Binyamin, also known as Adam, near Ramallah in the West Bank.

The terrorist entered the settlement through a fence and stabbed three people. Another man in his 50s was injured in the upper body and is in serious to moderate condition.

The terrorist was killed on the spot by a civilian, as confirmed by the Israeli army. A third victim, slightly injured, was treated at the scene.

Palestinian sources identified the attacker as Mohammed Tarek Dar Yusuf, a 17-year-old from Khobar, a West Bank town near Ramallah. The town is the same town where the Salomon family murderer came from, exactly a year ago.

The Popular Resistance Committee in Gaza said it welcomed the attack and described it as “the appropriate response to the crimes of the occupation.”

Hamas issued an official statement justifying the killing of the terrorist: “This is an act of heroism and a message to all leaders of the occupation who are trying to eradicate the spirit of resistance from the hearts of the Palestinian people. They failed and today's heroic action demonstrates the unity of the Palestinian people and their common destiny. Yesterday, three fighters died in Gaza and today the response came from the West Bank. »

IDF spokesman Brigadier General Ronen Manelis said: “We are reinforcing Central Command troops and preparing to operate in the village of Kubar, where the 17-year-old terrorist is from, as well as in other villages concerned. “We will continue to fight terrorism.”

Bedouins living near Geva Binyamin reported to a settlement guard that a Palestinian had passed their camp and said he intended to carry out an attack.
