Earlier on Tuesday, a suspect in Bat Yam was arrested by border police after discovering several aquatic species stored in a hidden apartment.

Police carried out searches, in cooperation with the Nature and Parks Authority, and discovered a significant number of endangered marine animals whose possession is prohibited.

This is not the first time that the Border Police and the Nature and Parks Authority have cooperated: in May 2023, the two organizations seized 80 animals without permits, the majority of which were pythons, in the region of Galileo.
