HARRISON COUNTY, Ind. — A man was arrested after officials pulled a truck from a river Friday.

According to the internet service provider, the truck driver appears to have backed too far onto the boat ramp. Police identified the driver of the truck as James Schuppert, 61, of Mauckport.

According to a news release, police who responded to the scene knew Schuppert and knew he had an active arrest warrant.

An ISP diver, with assistance from A-1 towing, assisted in recovering Schuppert and the vehicle from the river. Once police brought Schuppert back to earth, he was arrested and transported to the Harrison County Jail.

Schuppert was previously charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

The most serious charge Schuppert faces is manufacturing methamphetamine, a Level 4 felony. The maximum penalty for such a crime in Indiana is 12 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

At the time of publication, no further information about Schuppert or the incident was available.
