Is Eamonn Walker leaving Chicago Fire for good? What fans need to know

Firehouse 51 was devastated to lose Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) in the the Chicago fire Season 12 finale. The long-time deputy district chief of the fire station has decided to leave his position to become deputy commissioner of the entire Chicago Fire Department. This basically means he's the head honcho of all Chicago firefighters – which is a tremendous promotion and a very big deal.

Of course, Boden's 51 classmates were excited about this next step in his career — but that means he won't be near the fire station much. No, Walker is not leaving the Chicago fire for real. He simply will no longer appear on the show as a series regular. However, since the character is still very much alive in the universe, the door is open for him to return on a recurring basis or as a guest. Details on what that might look like are unknown at this time – but fans can rest easy knowing that Walker didn't do it. fully left the franchise.

Nicole Brooks), Deputy Commissioner of the CFD, in Boden. the Chicago fire Season 12 finale before officially offering him his job. “Lieutenant Kidd told me that you walked her down the aisle and officiated at the wedding of two members of your house. It's so symbolic, it's almost silly, Wallace. You bring together people at a time when all of us, including CFDs, need it most.

And when Boden left Firehouse 51, his colleagues said the nicest things to him.

“You made 51 a family, boss,” Cruz (Joe Miñoso) praised. “And this fire station, a house.”

It looks like 51 years old and fans are excited to see where Boden is headed in the the Chicago fire world.
