Iredell Deputies Charge Teen With Possession Of Stolen Gun

An Olin teenager was charged with possession of a stolen handgun during a recent driver's license stop.

Braydon Taylor Tench, 18, of Olin Loop, Olin, was charged with possession of a stolen firearm and misdemeanor counts of carrying a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. A magistrate set bail at $2,500.

Two other teens, Ryan Harris Mosley, 18, of Cherry Tree Drive, Mooresville, and Canyon Lee Ryan, 18, of Race Path Road, Union Grove, were cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and released.






Authorities said the gun and marijuana were seized during a traffic stop.

Iredell Sheriff Darren Campbell said in a news release that on June 22, officers with the Aggressive Crime Enforcement Team were conducting a driver's license check and a Volkswagen Jetta passed through the checkpoint. All three occupants were searched and marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found, Campbell said. A handgun was found in the front passenger seat, he said.

Deputy Madison Sharpe ran the gun's serial number and it was confirmed it had been reported stolen out of Charlotte, Campbell said. Tench was arrested, Campbell said.
