Iranian Army Ground Force Acquires Know-How to Manufacture Anti-Armor Weapons: Commander

The commander of the Iranian Army's ground forces said the military unit has acquired the necessary technology to develop various types of rocket launchers and anti-armor weapons to deal with potential threats in the future.

Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari, in an interview with Defa Press on Sunday, also highlighted the use of smart weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the Iranian army's ground forces.

“The Land Force has acquired the technology to manufacture all kinds of rocket launchers and anti-armor weapons and has also taken significant steps in the digitalization of all types of artillery,” Heidari said.

“Considering the threats that exist in the future, the Land Force has planned to develop intelligent, network-centric, precise and stand-off weapons and equipment,” he added.

He also highlighted the need to use artificial intelligence (AI) in the development of weapons and equipment for ground forces, saying that the use of AI in potential operations can “enhance” the effectiveness of weapons .

Iranian military experts and engineers have made remarkable breakthroughs in manufacturing a wide range of indigenous equipment in recent years, thereby making the armed forces self-sufficient.

Iranian officials have repeatedly emphasized that the country would not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities aimed entirely at defense, and that Iran's defense capabilities would never be the subject of negotiations.
