Investigation into Northwest DC shooting ongoing

Police are searching for a man last seen riding a bike or scooter.

WASHINGTON — Police are searching for the person who shot a man early Monday morning. Detectives say the man left the scene on a scooter or bicycle.

Washington DC Police Officers responded to the 5200 block of 3rd Street Northwest for a report of a shooting just before 1:30 a.m. It's near the Washington Latin Public Charter School. Arriving on scene, the police found the man shot. He was awake and breathing when he was taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said.

Police are still investigating the exact cause of the shooting. No arrests have been made.
