International drug trafficking, Italy issues 28 arrest warrants, Albanian gangs involved

Italian authorities today launched a nationwide action to execute 28 issued arrest warrants. According to reports, the action began early in the morning in the provinces of Rome, Naples, Foggia and Viterbo.

Furthermore, it appears that the Italian police executed 28 arrest warrants, including 11 prison arrests, 16 house arrests and 1 signature requirement, against people suspected of international drug trafficking and other serious crimes.

The investigations launched by the Carabinieri of the Rome Investigation Unit and led by the DDA of Rome in June 2020, made it possible to collect information on the existence of a criminal organization, with a logistical base in the capital and operating in Magliana and the Lazio coast, led by one of the famous Italian mafiosi of the so-called “Banda della Magliana”.

The leader of the gang is Marcello Colafigli, who, although on parole after being convicted of two murders, had managed to plan the sale and purchase of large quantities of narcotics from Spain and Colombia by maintaining relations with representatives of “Ndragheta”. , the “Camorra”, the Foggia mafia and with Albanians involved in a South American cartel.
