International drug trafficking, 14 arrests

Today, early in the morning, the Carabinieri of the ROS, assisted by the provincial commands of Teramo, Pescara, Fermo, Ascoli Piceno, Brescia and Perugia and in coordination with the Landeskriminalamt of North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany), the Udyco Central of the National Police (Spain), the Federal Judicial Police of Mons (Belgium) and the Anti-Narcotics Department of the National Police of Ukraine, are implementing 14 precautionary measures, in the Italian provinces and abroad, issued by the investigating magistrates of the Courts of L'Aquila and Teramo, at the request of the DDA of L'Aquila and the Ordinary Prosecutor's Office of Teramo, respectively, against 14 persons held responsible, on various counts, for “Association aimed at the illicit trafficking of narcotic or psychotropic substances” and “Production, trafficking and illicit possession of narcotic or psychotropic substances”, belonging to and adjacent to an organization operating on the national territory, in Germany and Spain, with other contacts in Belgium and Ukraine.

The ongoing activity is the result of complex and prolonged investigations carried out by the ROS, coordinated by the DDA of L'Aquila, following which the existence of an organized structure dedicated to the international trafficking of narcotic substances was documented, also revealing the methods of supply of the narcotic arriving in Italy from Spain.
