Inter Milan, Juventus and Torino seek teenage Sampdoria defender valued at €5m

Inter Milan, Juventus and Turin are keen to sign teenage Sampdoria defender Giovanni Leoni this summer.

This is according to today's print edition of Roman newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, which reports that Leoni will cost at least €5 million.

Teenage defender Leoni spent last season on loan at Sampdoria.

The 17-year-old was at Marassi on loan from Padua.

Despite his young age, Leoni has made a place for himself at the heart of the Ligurian defense.

Sampdoria had a purchase option to sign Leoni from Padova for €1.5 million. And there was never any question that they would.

Even if the Blucerchiatis don't keep the teenager, they can certainly sell him for a profit.

Corriere reports that Sampdoria should easily be able to sell Leoni for three times what they paid by triggering the purchase option to make his loan deal with Padua permanent.

Now the question is whether Sampdoria will keep Leoni for another season as they once again attempt to return to Serie A after remaining in the second division last season.

And Corriere notes that there are big elite clubs fond of Leoni.

The newspaper reports that all of Inter, Juventus and Torino are admirers of the 17-year-old.

The Nerazzurri reportedly asked scouts to monitor Leoni during a Serie B match between Sampdoria and Ternana in April.

If Leoni were to join a big Serie A club this summer, it is unclear whether he would then be loaned out.

Leoni made a total of twelve Serie B appearances last season for Sampdoria. These totaled 766 minutes on the pitch.

The teenage defender scored a goal for Andrea Pirlo's side.
