Inter Milan and Spezia in talks for teenage striker and Roma + Bologna linked with Sweden international

Inter Milan and Spezia are in talks over striker Francesco Pio Esposito and winger Emil Holm.

This according to Italian media FCInterNews. The outlet reports that Spezia want to keep Esposito for another season, while Inter are considering Holm as a replacement for Denzel Dumfries.

Spezia sporting director Stefano Melissano was at Inter headquarters recently.

The executive met with the Nerazzurri directors on Wednesday.

And according to the FCIN, there were notably two players whose names the leaders of the two clubs discussed.

The first was a player who Inter and Spezia have already agreed a deal for. 18-year-old striker Francesco Pio Esposito has already spent the season on loan with the Aquilotti.

However, the deal struck between the two clubs last summer was only a season-long loan deal.

Spezia exercised an option to sign Esposito permanently, but Inter had a buyout option.

Therefore, Esposito is back at Inter now. And it's up to the Nerazzurri to decide its future.

FCIN confirms that Spezia wants to keep Esposito. The Ligurian club are happy with the teenage striker's performances during the season.

However, the outlet reports, Inter would prefer to give Esposito experience in Serie A.

Therefore, according to FCIN, Inter's plan would be to send the teenager on loan to a lower mid-tier club in the elite for next season.

Inter and Spezia in talks for Esposito and Holm

Nevertheless, FCIN reports, Spezia made it clear to Inter during Wednesday's meeting that he would like to bring Esposito back next season.

And according to FCIN, if Esposito is to enjoy another loan spell in the second division rather than a Serie A club, then Spezia would be the most likely destination.

Meanwhile, FCIN reports, Esposito's name wasn't the only one Inter and Spezia discussed this week.

The two clubs also discussed 24-year-old winger Emil Holm.

Holm spent the season on loan with Atalanta.

However, La Dea has no plans to make the deal with the Sweden international permanent. So he's back in Spezia for the moment.

However, reports FCIN, Holm is hardly going to unpack his bags.

The Aquilotti will look for a top club for the Swede.

According to FCIN, Inter made it clear to Spezia during Wednesday's talks that they view Holm as a target in the event they sell Denzel Dumfries this summer.

The Nerazzurri either want to agree a contract extension with Dumfries or sell the Dutchman.

But Inter are not the only club interested in signing Holm, FCIN reports.

The likes of Roma and Bologna are also considering a move for the 24-year-old.
