Injury report required in alleged unprovoked assault on woman at Grand Canal Dock Dart station

The alleged attack is believed to have taken place at Grand Canal Dock Dart station.

The case against a young woman accused of unprovokedly assaulting another woman at a Dart station has been adjourned pending a medical report into the alleged victim's injuries.

Jade Kenny (26), accused of punching the woman in the face, had her case sent to Dublin District Court later this week.

Ms Kenny, of no fixed address, is accused of assaulting a woman, causing her injury, at Grand Canal Dock Dart station on March 18 this year.

When the case came before Judge Miriam Walsh, a garda said a requested medical report was still outstanding. The judge adjourned the case.

Previously, the court heard the accused was at the Dart station with friends when she punched the woman in the face without provocation.

The alleged victim suffered swelling to his left eye and sought medical attention. According to the prosecution, the accused was present at the scene and abused the GardaĆ and the public. She was arrested and charged.

A judge previously requested medical evidence to help decide where the case should be heard. The DPP ordered that the matter could be heard in the district court subject to a judge accepting jurisdiction.
