Indianapolis shooting on Questend Drive near Lafayette Road and Kessler

INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a fight between two parties ended with four people shot and one person dead on the city's northwest side.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 2800 block of Questend Drive South around 9:20 p.m. for a report of a disturbance. It's an area near Lafayette Road and Kessler Boulevard.

Police say the incident began as a fight between two separate parties that escalated into a shooting. Children were present during the shooting, police say.

Among the victims, a woman was rushed to a nearby hospital, but died of her injuries.

Three other people, identified as men, were also shot and injured in the incident. Their condition is stable.

IMPD is asking citizens to avoid the area where the shooting took place.

A suspect is in custody, IMPD said.
