Improved Camp Fire Day brings together 27 volunteers on May 24

FREMONT – Volunteers made a difference May 24 during the United Way of Sandusky County’s Day of Caring. This year's Day of Caring saw volunteers working at Camp Fire Sandusky County prepare for upcoming youth summer camps.

Volunteers step up to help beautify Camp Fire Camp

“The United Way has a long history of supporting our summer programs and camps, and it was nice to see that support translate into volunteer hours to help us prepare our building and grounds for this year's campers,” said Tory Thompson, CEO/General Manager. of the Camp Sandusky County Fire in a press release.

In a single day, 27 volunteers came to help, totaling 88 hours worked. Volunteers signed up for a two- or four-hour shift and were assigned tasks throughout the 47-acre campus, including painting, power washing, equipment assembly, trail cleaning , pulling weeds and other miscellaneous tasks.
