Mohali: The Crime Investigating Agency (CIA) of the Mohali Police busted an illegal arms ring in Mohali by arresting an arms seller and buyer and seizing weapons, said CIA personnel SP (Investigation ) Jyoti Yadav.DSP (investigation) Harsimrat Singh said the arms seller was identified as Subhash Kumar (19), a native of Badaun in UP, and the buyer, Satvinder Singh (23) alias Sodhi, is a resident of Balaji Enclave, Lohgarh, Zirakpur. The DSP said that the CIA personnel received a tip-off regarding Subhash, who was allegedly supplying illegal arms from UP to Punjab. Subhash was arrested from his home. During interrogation, Subhash confessed to bringing three illegal weapons from Badaun, UP, and selling a country-made .315 caliber pistol to Satvinder Singh around 7-8 months ago. He also admitted to planning to sell the remaining weapons through Satvinder. Consequently, Satvinder was also named in the case and arrested. Following Subhash's disclosure, CIA personnel arrested Satvinder Singh and during interrogation, he admitted to purchasing an illegal .315 caliber weapon from Subhash Kumar and posting a story with the weapon on his Instagram.
