'Idiot' Justin Timberlake Ignored Warning Minutes Before DWI Arrest – From the Same Cop Who Eventually Arrested Him

He brings back idiots.

Turns out pop star Justin Timberlake could have avoided all that Hamptons DWI drama if he'd only heeded the wise words of the young cop who then handcuffed him.

A local law enforcement source told the Post that Timberlake, 43, was actually arrested twice Tuesday morning in Sag Harbor, Long Island.

The first time, he received a warning prohibiting him from continuing his journey.

“He was pulled over and advised not to drive,” the source said of the “Cry Me a River” crooner. “The officer did not recognize him; he is a young man. And he still gave Justin a break, because he didn't pose an immediate danger.

The source said: “The police officer”, who is 23, “thought it was over, that this guy would be taken home.”

But “several minutes later,” while the officer was patrolling another side of the village, Timberlake “was observed by the same officer, driving” his BMW 2025 SUV again, and stopped, the source added.

“What an idiot,” the source mused. “I think he could afford a driver. What about the law? »

Timberlake was arrested a second time after allegedly running a stop sign at a four-way intersection and then swerving his SUV into the left lane.

The married father of two, who admitted to previous problems with “excessive drinking”, told police he had drunk a single martini at the historic American Hotel, where he had dined with friends, sources told Page Six.

It's unclear who he dined with, but several musicians — like Jennifer Lopez, Jay-Z and Beyoncé — have homes there, as do music industry heavyweights like Lyor Cohen.

After being asked to exit his vehicle, Timberlake then attempted to take a number of field sobriety tests, “with poor results,” according to court documents.

The “Suit and Tie” singer was asked three times to blow into a breathalyzer, and he refused. The officer noted in his report that Timberlake was unsteady, had slurred speech and smelled strongly of alcohol.

His eyes, according to the report, were “glassy” and bloodshot.

During the second stop, Timberlake reportedly lamented the impact his arrest could have on his world tour. Timberlake played a concert Friday in Chicago, where he told fans: “It's been a tough week. I know I'm hard to love sometimes, but you continue to love me back.

He has meetings planned in the Big Apple next week.

He also “sighed in frustration” while being detained.

His friends would be annoyed by the media coverage.

“He was having dinner with some friends,” a friend told NewsNation's Paula Froelich, calling the rookie officer a “typical overzealous Hamptons cop.”

“He gave him a sobriety test which he agreed to do. . . and then the guy continued to pester him and wanted him to take a breathalyzer, and Justin smartly and rightly said no.

The American Hotel's restaurant and bar is popular with celebrities and is a regular haunt of rock icon Billy Joel, known for tickling the hotspot's piano ivories after a few cocktails.

In 2004, Joel crashed his car into a Sag Harbor home, apparently after spending the evening at the American Hotel.

A witness at the American Hotel said Timberlake appeared “wasted” – and even drank someone else's unsupervised drink.

Sag Harbor police are known to park within walking distance of popular bars like the American Hotel and wait for patrons to return to their cars. Motorists are then followed for a period of time and arrested when their car crosses lane lines, speeds or ignores a stop sign or red light.

“Before cell phones and cameras were everywhere, bartenders in the village would call 911 and report a fire or accident miles and miles away, just so their customers could drive home,” he said. declared another local police source.

Although he faces up to a year in prison if convicted, experts say Timberlake will likely receive a slap on the wrist, given this is his first offense.
