Twin Falls police intensify search for vehicles involved in fatal shooting

The Twin Falls Police Department is actively seeking the public's assistance in locating two vehicles of interest related to the tragic shooting that occurred on July 3, 2024. The incident, which occurred at approximately 7:22 p.m. in the Fawnbrook Apartments parking complex at 645 Fawnbrook Avenue, resulted in the death of 35-year-old Miguel Lawrence Garza.

Incident details and response

On the evening of July 3, Twin Falls police officers responded quickly to reports of shots fired at the Fawnbrook Apartments. Upon arrival, they discovered Miguel Lawrence Garza had been shot. Garza was immediately transported to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries the following morning.

Vehicles of interest

As part of the investigation, the Twin Falls Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying two vehicles potentially linked to the shooting. One vehicle is a white two-door Dodge pickup truck, characterized by a faded “Dodge” sticker on its tailgate, missing license plates, four hooks on the top rail of the bed and what appears to be a temporary registration on the driver's side rear window. The other vehicle is a gray or silver four-door Ford Explorer, characterized by chrome door handles, chrome/silver wheels and a roof rack.

Police Efforts and Community Involvement

“The men and women of the Twin Falls Police Department are actively gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses and have made it a top priority to find the person or persons responsible for this crime and bring them to justice,” said Police Chief Craig Kingsbury. The department is working closely with the Twin Falls County Prosecutor’s Office and is seeking the cooperation of the community to solve this case.
