IDENTIFIED: North Fork man killed in Fresno County crash | YourCentralValley.com

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The man killed after colliding with several trees and being ejected from his vehicle in Fresno County was identified Friday by the Fresno County Coroner's Office.

The coroner's office identified the man as Nicholas Mikesell, 63, of Fresno.

CHP says they received a call around 11:40 a.m. Thursday about a solo vehicle crash near Shaw Avenue, just west of Chateau Fresno in Fresno County.

Officers say a preliminary investigation determined Mikesell was driving a Ford Mustang on Shaw Avenue eastbound. For unknown reasons, he let the Mustang go off the road and onto the south shoulder where it struck a eucalyptus tree.

CHP says the collision caused the vehicle to overturn several times, striking more trees. Meanwhile, Mikesell was ejected and landed on the ground south of the roadway near the Mustang. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in this crash. The investigation is ongoing.
