Iberville Sheriff Brett Stassi prepares for his four-year term

The last 12 years have been active and productive, and Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi expects the same for the next four years.

Stassi begins his fourth term when he is sworn in during a June 13 ceremony at the Plaquemine Community Center.

He succeeds Brent Allain, who retired after 12 years as sheriff.

As for Stassi, he's not ready to say whether the next term will be his last.

“That decision will be made later,” he said. “I have a lot of gas left in the tank and I look forward to the next four years building the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office into one of the premier law enforcement agencies in the state.”

He has seen many changes since he was first sworn in in 2012.
