I-90 near Billings reduced to one lane of travel until June 2 for road repairs | Billing News

As a reminder, the Montana Department of Transportation has reduced 1-90 traffic near Billings to one lane between the North 27th Street interchange (exit 450) and the Lockwood interchange (exit 452).

According to the 511mt.net traffic map, chip sealing operations are expected to end at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 2.

Intermittent lane closures are expected in both directions with reduced speed limits. MDT says delays of up to 15 minutes can be expected.


BILLINGS, Mont. – The Montana Department of Transportation announced Billings Interstate 90 will only be open for one lane of traffic in both directions starting next week.

Work is expected to start on Tuesday, May 28, just after the holidays.

According to the press release, lanes will be closed from the 27th Street North interchange at Exit 450 to the Lockwood interchange at Exit 452. There will also be ramp closures throughout the corridor as well as a traffic control at the Lockwood interchange for the Highway 87 overpass.

These lane closures are expected to last about a week while MDT and construction crews seal and strip the highway.

MDT warns drivers of potential traffic delays and congestion with speeds reduced to 45 MPH.
