Human trafficking ring busted in Lahore, girls freed from prostitution

Lahore police have uncovered a human trafficking ring that abducts young girls and forces them into prostitution. The operation resulted in the arrest of three suspects, including a woman, and the rescue of three girls from Faisalabad. The operation by the Anti-Organized Crime Unit to rescue three girls from Faisalabad was led by DIG Imran Kishwar.

“The group used to send girls to prostitution centers and collect Rs 70,000 per month,” Kishore told a press conference. The victims, who had disappeared in several neighborhoods of Lahore, had been lured by the ringleader, a woman named Mumtaz. “Mumtaz targeted girls who had left their homes in anger,” Kishwar said. The girls were then forced into prostitution.

Authorities discovered the gang was using fake marriage certificates to justify their kidnappings. These certificates were used to dupe victims and facilitate their sale into prostitution.

The investigation continues and efforts are underway to locate and rescue additional victims using information provided by the arrested suspects. “We are determined to dismantle this network and ensure justice for the victims,” Kishwar told the crowd.
