Human remains identified as belonging to missing prospector

Police have identified human remains found during a search for two missing prospectors in Sandstone as those of Raymond Keith Kehlet.

Mr. Kehlet and his wife, Jennie Anne, had been missing since March 22 after leaving their campsite near an area known as Table Top.

A large-scale land search was launched on April 1, but police suspended the operation on Tuesday after attempts to locate the couple were unsuccessful.

During the search, police discovered skeletal remains in an abandoned mine shaft on April 8 and confirmed yesterday that the remains were those of Mr Kehlet.

His family has since been notified.

Mrs. Kehlet is still missing.
