Huge bushfire erupts behind Nevada's Hug High School, shocking videos surface

Multiple fire departments are responding to a large brush fire behind Hug High School in Sparks, Nevada. Videos circulating on social media show the massive fire ravaging a large area.

The fire is believed to have happened near Sullivan Lane shortly after 9pm on Tuesday June 11. Sparks police said several accidents have occurred in the area due to spectators, according to News4. The fire burned about 35 acres, the news outlet reported.

Among the many agencies helping fight the fire are the Sparks Fire Department and the Bureau of Land Management. In an update on Facebook, the Sparks Fire Department wrote: “The Sparks Fire Department, along with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and the Reno Fire Department are currently battling another brush fire near Hug High School, off Sullivan Lane. Please avoid the area and watch for first responders on the road who are responding to the incident.

In an update posted in the comments section, the department wrote: “Some evacuation orders have been placed. This link will show the location of the evacuation zone. Officials are asking those affected to go to Senior Services at 1155 E. 9th St.”

Meanwhile, the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District posted a video on Facebook of authorities putting out the fire, with the caption: “#TMFR crews cut a fire line with Dozer 31 on the Wildfire Sullivan late tonight in Sparks. »
