How China's 'Brain Warfare' unit is preparing for war with mind-blowing new weapons to 'paralyze' enemies

CHINA is preparing for all-out war by preparing a worrying stockpile of jaw-dropping weapons, experts have warned.

There are fears that Xi Jinping's regime will use stun weapons to target Taiwanese forces in the event of an invasion.

Last year, we reported on developments within China's People's Liberation Army that exposed this terrifying new technology.

Xi's forces are believed to be studying cognitive and biological weapons, designed to sedate their enemies, impair their alertness and impair their decision-making.

Today, Chinese experts spoke to The Sun about developing revolutionary weapons – and warned of a “terrible and brave new world”.

John Lee, a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute and former national security adviser to the Australian government, said the new weapons are designed to “defeat the mind of the enemy.”

Since “secrecy and transparency” are an important part of Chinese policy, it is difficult to determine where exactly the regime stands in developing these weapons, he said.

But Lee added that there is evidence to suggest that the Chinese People's Liberation Army is producing them.

And security expert Professor Anthony Glees told The Sun the threat of such fearsome technology should be “taken very seriously indeed”.

He said: “Microwaves can be used as a weapon to cause cognitive fog, dizziness, loss of balance, anxiety and nausea.

“They could target only one specific target, says Taiwan's military control headquarters.”

Research group The CCP Biothreats Initiative first shared the alarming development in China's cognitive warfare last year.

They suggested that China was at the “cutting edge” of “advanced technologies,” including “AI, brain-computer interfaces, and new biological weapons.”

And that the regime – which has long posed a threat to small states like Taiwan – plans to use them for “military strategies”.

Some technologies could even precisely target soldiers or leaders of specific enemy groups.

John told The Sun: “There is evidence that the various Chinese entities are experimenting and developing these types of weapons.

“These are weapons that essentially degrade the natural mind abilities or cognitive processes of particular targets.”

He said the PLA wanted to develop technology to “defeat the enemy's mind, or subdue the enemy's mind before actual conflict or disagreement takes place.”

NO LIMITS

Although some aspects of warfare – the rise of AI and biological or cognitive weapons – are subject to limitations under international law, China does not consider itself subject to these rules.

John told The Sun that Beijing would place no limits on itself when developing these types of weapons.

John told The Sun: “The Chinese do not submit to the kind of ethical constraints that many advanced liberal democracies have imposed on themselves.

“They will systematically refuse to reach credible binding agreements on…the constraints we might mutually want to impose on each other to prevent any sort of escape into a terrible and brave world.”

This means that its developments of cognitive, biological or even nuclear weapons – which are already largely kept secret – are not regulated.

John said: “I would even say that the Soviet Union was subject to more mutually agreed constraints than China currently has in the nuclear field.

“And certainly [in the] biological domain. China does not impose any restrictions on itself.

“China continues to view itself as trying to catch up with the United States, particularly in weapons.

“He does not want to impose any constraints on the development of any type of weaponry, based on any type of technology.”

Brain Warfare Weapons

The CCP Biothreats Initiative published a wealth of research last year on new weapons technologies.

It lays out the technologies China is working towards and what it is capable of – in an alarming indication of the future war landscape.

Research shows that Beijing uses a combination of advanced technology and biological weapons to develop its arsenal.

They said China's goal was to “create a powerful deterrent and asymmetric advantage.”

Units 94969 and 96812, two military groups, work on the weapons.

BRAIN-COMPUTER INTERFACES

A brain-computer interface is a system that connects brain activity to an external device such as a computer.

Brain signals can be analyzed and transformed into commands, directing the person to perform a specific action.

GENETIC DRUGS

Pharmaceuticals designed to modify the genetic and physiological makeup of adversaries.

They can then target cognitive, emotional and behavioral traits.

SOFT-KILL RADIO WAVES

These use electromagnetic energy for non-lethal attacks, for example to induce drowsiness or cause cognitive impairment.

ANTI-SLEEP GLASSES

They can enhance the usefulness of their own troops by promoting vigilance and awareness.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

China has long been working on using AI for military purposes.

Experts have previously warned The Sun about the country using AI to influence elections and target its enemies.

They have even committed to becoming the world leader in AI by 2030.

BIOLOGICAL WEAPONS

During the Cold War, China used biological warfare by weaponizing diseases such as plague and cholera.

Concerns have long been raised that the country continues to do so to this day.

THREAT TO TAIWAN

John told The Sun that China's increasingly aggressive exercises near Taiwan are preparing it for an invasion.

He said: “You often hear this comment that China is showboating.

“It's not just that. China is actively improving its readiness and tactical ability to launch an invasion of Taiwan.”

Professor Glees said these reports remind him of the phenomenon of Havana syndrome which was first reported in 2016.

Hundreds of U.S. intelligence and military officials and their families have reported strange symptoms, including hearing a loud sound, problems with balance and cognition. insomnia and headaches.

Some have pointed the finger at foreign actors – notably Russia – as being the cause of strange cases – using technologies such as microwave or ultrasonic weapons.

Professor Glees told The Sun: “We have known for certain since December 2020 that 'Havana syndrome' is real, that microwaves can be used to cause 'cognitive fog, dizziness, loss of balance , anxiety and nausea” as a weapon.

“A study a year earlier identified brain damage in those who suffered microwave attacks.

“Using a computer virus to infect Taiwanese computers to develop a cyber version of 'Havana Syndrome' that would affect large swathes of a selected group in dispersed locations, e.g. Air Force pilots, soldiers in charge of the batteries, should be relatively simple.

“Similarly, infecting Taiwanese computers with sleep programs should be simple.

He said the weapons described in last year's report, if developed, “could target just one specific target, for example Taiwan's military control HQ, but not more generally.”

And, he told us, “it might be possible to teleport them from a warship.”

Describing the technology as “China's cyber Trojan horse”, Professor Glees said it could “make an invasion of Taiwan much simpler than it could be”.
