House fire in Trenton – KCHI Radio

A fire in a house at 1414 East 13th The Trenton court summoned the firefighters Thursday evening. The 911 call came in at 8:13 a.m. and firefighters arrived at David Brown's home and found the entire detached garage was involved and 20% of the home was involved on the southeast corner. Thick smoke and flames were coming from both structures.

Firefighters began extinguishing the garage and southeast corner of the house, then installed a fan and performed a positive pressure attack by entering the front door of the house to begin the extinguishing and conduct a search primary from the inside. Once the fire was under control, crews conducted overhaul operations to assess the extent of the fire and extinguish any remaining hot spots.

The result was extensive fire damage and the collapse of the garage roof, which was a total loss. The back porch, back room, and southeast corner kitchen suffered extensive fire damage. With extensive heat and smoke damage throughout the first floor.

All occupants and animals escaped safely and there were no injuries.

The fire started in the detached garage and spread to the house, but the cause of the fire is undetermined.
