Hope Tucker went missing May 22 near I-10 and Verrado Way in Buckeye

The Buckeye Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a 46-year-old woman named Hope Tucker who has been missing since May 22, although authorities did not learn of her disappearance until Saturday.

Tucker, who is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds, disappeared sometime after his purple Dodge Charger broke down west of Phoenix on Interstate 10 near Verrado Way, which is within the city limits from the town of Buckeye. On June 23, 2024, police asked the public to avoid the area due to ongoing search activities.

Tucker's car broke down early on the morning of May 22 while she was with her adult son who has autism, high support needs and limited ability to communicate, according to officials with the Tucker Police Department. Buckeye, who didn't learn of Tucker's disappearance until June 22 – exactly one month after his disappearance.

Tucker's son is safe and in the care of a relative. He had previously been hospitalized for nearly a month, according to Buckeye police, who say investigators learned they had contact with him on May 24 when he allegedly urinated in public and appeared to be in distress medical. Buckeye firefighters took him to the hospital.

Buckeye police say Tucker's son told his relative on June 22 what happened when his mother's care was interrupted, and the relative contacted police, who immediately initiated a research.

Police said that when Tucker's car broke down on May 22, she and her son left the vehicle to seek shade and that shortly afterward she may have suffered a life-threatening medical emergency. hazard. Shortly after 11 a.m. the same day, a trooper found the vehicle abandoned on I-10 near mile marker 119 and it was towed, police said.

Buckeye police say they tried to contact Tucker's phone without success. They conduct search operations and coordinate with partner agencies for additional resources.

Buckeye police say they have found no evidence that Tucker resided in Buckeye, although “it appears she may have lived in other parts of the valley in the past,” a spokesperson wrote in an email. email.
