Homicide suspect, 21, returns to Utah and is arrested at Salt Lake airport

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A man was arrested at Salt Lake City International Airport Sunday on the occasion of May 2024, shooting death of a 30-year-old manaccording to police.

Nay Blusoe, 21, was arrested on a charge of aggravated murder, as well as a charge of obstructing justice. He was apprehended at the airport after returning to Salt Lake City on Sunday, according to the Salt Lake Police Department.

Police say after Blusoe was identified as one of the shooters, detectives learned he left Utah after the incident and traveled to Detroit, Michigan. At the airport, homicide detectives and officers from the SLCPD Airport Division “safely arrested” Blusoe.

Blusoe was arrested just a few days later another suspect — Abdihakim Mohamed, 19 — was arrested in connection with the death of Nico Christopher Patino, 30. On May 26, Patino died at the scene after officers responded to reports of a shooting.

“Detectives from the Salt Lake City Police Department's Homicide Squad responded and through their investigation determined that the murder of Patino was a coordinated effort with multiple shooters on foot and in a car,” said the SLCPD in a press release.

Police said the investigation was still ongoing and more people could be arrested. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

Police said they would not release further information at this time.

The accusations are just allegations. All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
