A Hollywood makeup artist whose credits include Rebel Moon, mean girls And Babylon is recovering after being stabbed more than 20 times by her ex-boyfriend.

Allie Shehorn, 35, suffered multiple stab wounds at his home in the Shadow Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles on Thursday, May 23, KTLA reports. The Los Angeles Police and Fire Department confirmed to Los Angeles Times that detectives and paramedics responded to reports of a stabbing victim.

A GoFundMe page set up by Shehorn's friends to raise money to cover her medical expenses alleges that Shehorn was attacked by her ex-boyfriend. According to KTLA, Shehorn had recently filed a restraining order against him.

“Allie is a remarkable person, full of warmth, kindness and love. No one deserves to go through such a traumatic experience, especially someone as compassionate and caring as Allie,” the GoFundMe page reads.

Shehorn was found by a woman named Christine Whitewho is described in an update on the fundraising page as a “foster mom who cares very much about Allie.”

“This is not the type of thing that should happen to anyone,” White told KTLA. “You don’t think this will ever happen to you.”

“I found her and had to go to the room where it happened. It wasn’t a pretty sight,” White added.

Emilie MacDonaldone of the organizers of the GoFundMe page, told the outlet that despite his injuries, Shehorn is doing well.

“She is in a very good mood. I feel like she comforts us all, and that's kind of what Allie is. Even when she’s at her lowest, she’s always looking for how she can help others get back up,” MacDonald said.

In an update on Tuesday, May 28, another GoFundMe organizer Jed Dornoff shared that Shehorn had been removed from the intensive care unit.

“She is still determined not to let it get her down and she tries to work through the pain to heal,” Dornoff wrote.

The LAPD told KTLA that Shehorn's alleged attacker fled the state. Shehorn's friends said Monday (May 27) via GoFundMe that the person was later apprehended in Texas.
