Hollywood comedian and Arrested Development actor dies at 80

Hollywood actor and musician Martin Mull has died after a long battle with a mysterious illness, aged 80.

The veteran actor was best known for his roles in TV series such as Arrested Development and Rosanne, as well as the crime film Clue.

Mull's daughter announced the actor's death Thursday on Instagram.

“I am heartbroken to announce that my father passed away at home on June 27, after a valiant battle with a long illness,” she said.

Mull, who has worked in Hollywood for more than four decades, has also starred in the TV shows Veep, Two and Half Men, as well as the cult film Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, as Principal Willard Kraft.

He starred alongside Hollywood heavyweights Robin Williams and Sally Field in the 1993 film Mrs. Doubtfire.

Heartbroken fans took to Facebook to express their shock.

“Rest in heaven, one of the great actors of my time,” one person posted.

“I will always remember him as Leon in Roseanne and in the movie Mr. Mom with Michael Keaton,” said another

“I will always remember him as Leon, the only man who could go blow for blow with Roseanne.”
