Hit-and-run driver arrested after victim suffers life-threatening injuries in Millbrae

(KRON) – A man was arrested for hit-and-run after a crash that left a woman with fatal injuries, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff's Office received a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian near Millbrae Avenue and El Camino Real around 5:40 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, officers provided assistance until the victim was transported to a local hospital for his life-threatening injuries.


Deputies were told by witnesses that the driver of the vehicle struck the pedestrian before fleeing the scene in the vehicle. Automated license plate reader technology was used in the investigation to locate the suspect.

Officers identified the driver as Nathan U. Tuvalu, 32, a resident of Millbrae. He was arrested at his home. He was incarcerated at Maguire Correctional Center for hit and run.
