Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office designated as OfferUp meeting location

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is making buying and selling goods online safer through a new partnership with OfferUp, a mobile platform designed to help users buy and sell locally.

HCSO is a “Community MeetUp Spot” designated by OfferUp, in other words, a place to exchange purchases on the Internet. Each district office is equipped with signage and video cameras that will ensure the safety of those gathered at HCSO.

“Your Sheriff's Office is always looking for innovative ways to meet the needs of our community, one of which is safety and security when transacting online,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Each district office is already designated as a safe space, and this new designation with OfferUp highlights our commitment to our residents.

In the OfferUp app, Central Florida users around Tampa are encouraged to select an HCSO location to transact.

The five HCSO district offices are located in:
