Henry County Sheriff's Office responds to multiple deer collisions in recent days | Hawk's Eye – Burlington, Iowa

HENRY COUNTY — Henry County emergency crews responded to a series of collisions between cars and deer over the past few days.

At 2:42 a.m. Saturday, the Henry County Sheriff's Office responded to Pilot for a vehicle collision.

Upon arrival, they discovered a 2017 Dodge Journey traveling north on Highway 218 north of Mount Pleasant when a deer struck the car, according to a news release from the Henry County Sheriff's Office.

The vehicle was able to be returned to the Pilot, but suffered disabling damage. Estimated repair costs for Dodge were $4,000.

No injuries were reported.

At 9:14 p.m. Sunday, the Henry County Sheriff's Office responded to the 2700 block of Highway 34 near New London for a report of a motor vehicle accident.

After arriving, investigators determined that a 2016 Ford Fusion driven by a Mt. Pleasant woman was traveling westbound on Highway 34 near Racine Avenue when a deer struck the car, according to a press release from the Henry County Sheriff's Office.

The vehicle suffered disabling damage as a result of the collision, with the repair cost estimated at $3,500.

No injuries were reported.

And at 5:47 a.m. Monday, the Henry County Sheriff's Office responded to the 2800 block of Highway 218, near mile marker 27, for a report of a vehicle collision.

Upon arrival, it was determined that a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a Lockridge woman was heading west when the car struck a deer, according to a news release from the Henry County Sheriff's Office.

The vehicle sustained serious damage and repair costs were estimated at $3,500.

No injuries were reported.
