Hear the heartbreaking 911 call after Julian Wood, 3, was 'stabbed to death by stranger' outside store

A heartbreaking 911 call from a distraught employee captured the moments of chaos after a toddler was stabbed to death by a stranger outside a local grocery store.

Julian Wood, 3, and his mother Margot Wood, 38, were coming out of a giant eagle in North Olmsted, Ohio, 17 miles west of Cleveland, when Bionca Ellis, 32, approached them with a knife from behind Monday.

Ellis was charged with aggravated murder and ordered held on $1 million bail for allegedly brutally attacking the mother and son with the knife — and police are unaware of the motive, Fox News reported.

The attack lasted about two minutes in the parking lot while the child sat in the shopping cart, after Ellis stalked the family inside the store, according to police.

The charging document stated that the child was stabbed once in the face and once in the back, which led to his death. The mother had also been stabbed but survived.

CALL 911

A Giant Eagle staff member called 911 after hearing the commotion during his break.

“There is a child, he is bleeding everywhere. We’re in North Olmsted Giant Eagle,” the panicked employee told the dispatcher during the frightening call, Cleveland CBS affiliate WOIO reported.

“Um, I don’t know what happened to him.

“There’s a kid, he’s bleeding everywhere,” the employee kept repeating frantically.

“We’re at Giant Eagle, he’s outside. We're in the parking lot right now.

The dispatcher responded inquiring about the toddler’s condition and said, “Okay. Is the child conscious and breathing?

“Is he breathing?” the staff member asked someone, then told the dispatcher, “I don’t know.”

RANDOM ACT OF VIOLENCE

Cops said the attack appeared to come out of nowhere and that Ellis had no connection to the Woods.

“She spotted Ms. Wood and her son and then followed them to the parking lot,” North Olmsted Detective and Sergeant Matthew Beck said at a news conference.

“At this point, after speaking with the mother, we know there was no connection between these two.

“It was a completely random act of violence.

There is no indication as to why she did this. She wouldn't talk about anything, she has a lawyer. We have some mental health issues, but nothing concrete at this point.

Julian's family have spoken of the deep sadness they feel after the loss of the little child.

They remain confused after this random act and say it will take them a long time to recover.

“Our family is overwhelmed with sadness,” the family said in a statement.

“We have no explanation for how or why this happened, it was a random act of violence.

“There was no prior altercation, they did not know each other… it was a malicious and random act.

“She has devastated our family beyond words, she has taken something from us that we can never get back.”
