Harpursville man sentenced to 20 years in prison for enticement of a minor

United States Attorney Trini E. Ross announced that David Lettieri, 36, of Harpursville, New York, was sentenced to 240 months in prison for enticing a minor. U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilado handed down the sentence after Lettieri was found guilty by a federal jury.

In October 2020, Lettieri traveled from Broome County to meet a 13-year-old girl in a Wyoming County park with the intention of engaging in sexual activity. Although no sexual contact occurred, investigators found photos of the victim on Lettieri's phone and recovered sexually explicit conversations on his Facebook account involving the victim and her sister.

The case was investigated by the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office, led by Sheriff Gregory J. Rudolph, and the FBI, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Matthew Miraglia.
