Harley-Davidson is suing Next at the High Court in London over allegations that one of the retailer's t-shirts ripped off its logo.

The American motorcycle maker claimed that the children's clothing, which features biker angel wings and infringes on its brand, reported an article in Financial Times said.

In a complaint filed last month, the company said the piece “essentially reproduces” the outline of its logo and also features “graphic material and text that is…”. . . commonly seen in the context of motorcycle-based branding and specifically Plaintiffs' branding.”

Harley-Davidon said the design of the FTSE 100 “gives rise to a likelihood of confusion on the part of the average relevant consumer”.

The children's clothing, available for ages 3 to 16, retails for between £6 and £8.50, according to Next's website.

According to the media outlet, Harley-Davidson is asking the court to declare that “Next has infringed its trademarks and to order it to destroy “all infringing materials.” He did not quantify the damage.
