Harford Mall shooting: Bel Air police issue alert, no suspect information

A suspected shooting incident at Harford Mall, according to Bel Air police, prompted an immediate evacuation of the area Sunday.

An incident suspected of being a shooting Harford Shopping CenterAccording to Bel Air police, the area was immediately evacuated Sunday. Maryland municipal law enforcement used social media to alert Harford County residents to avoid flocking to the area. A joint investigation was launched by police and other local authorities following a rapid response to the shooting near the mall. It was unclear if anyone was injured in the reported incident in the 600 block of Belair Road.

“AVOID THE HARFORD MALL AREA WHILE WE INVESTIGATE A SHOOTING,” Bel Air police wrote in a Facebook post.

The officers are accompanied by the Harford County Fire Department, who said crews from the Bel Air and EMS units were on scene. Earlier, dispatch rushed to the scene after police received reports of a shooting near the mall.
