Hardin County woman killed in Sunday storms identified

THERE ARE STILL ABOUT 30,000 WITHOUT ELECTRICITY. A 34-YEAR-OLD LOUISVILLE MAN IS ONE OF FIVE DEATHS ATTRIBUTED TO SEVERE WEATHER ON SUNDAY. POLICE SAY FIRST RESPONDERS WERE CALLED TO THE AREA OF HOBBS STATION ROAD, NEAR ANCHORAGE. A MAN WAS HIT BY A FALLING TREE. HE DIED AT THE SCENE. HIS NAME HAS NOT YET BEEN RELEASED, BUT NEIGHBORS SAY HE WAS WORKING AS A LANDSCAPE AT THE TIME. OTHER DEATHS FROM THE STORM WERE IN CALDWELL, MERCER, HOPKINS AND HARDIN COUNTIES. 62-year-old Hardin County woman killed in Sunday storms identified

The Hardin County woman who died in Sunday's storms has been identified. Five Kentuckians died when dangerous storms ravaged the region, according to Gov. Andy Beshear. Among them was a 62-year-old woman, identified by the Hardin County coroner as Noreene Padgett, of Radcliff. The coroner did not give the exact cause of death, but only said it was storm-related. Beshear said a man was also seriously injured in the storm. Fourteen counties and five cities in Kentucky declared a state of emergency Sunday, Beshear said. At least one tornado touched down in the Louisville area. An EF-1 was recorded in Meade County, located approximately 28 miles north of Hardin County.
