Hardin County man still missing – Mercer County Outlook

(6-2-24) The Hardin County Sheriff's Office is continuing its efforts to determine the whereabouts of a McGuffey, Ohio man who has been missing from his residence since late March.

The sheriff's office was contacted on March 31 by a family member of Michael Bolen, 66, stating that he had not been seen since March 29. Although Bolen's disappearance has entered the third month, the sheriff's office and its investigative division are continue to search for Mr. Bolen's whereabouts – following all potential leads, conducting interviews and multiple searches. The Bureau has retained numerous law enforcement partners, including BCI&I of Ohio, the Logan County Sheriff's Office, the Hardin County Prosecutor's Office, and the FBI. Various community resources were also used.

The Sheriff's Office asks for continued vigilance from residents and surrounding areas of the McGuffey community. Property owners are asked to check the interior of buildings on their property; to notice unexplained soil disturbances, and/or anything that may appear suspicious. Anything suspicious and/or any information regarding Mr. Bolen's disappearance should be reported to the Sheriff's Office by calling (419) 673-1268, option 0, and asking to speak with a detective.

At the time of his disappearance, Mr. Bolen was 5 feet 11 inches tall, had gray hair, green eyes and weighed 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing glasses, a yellow tank top, blue jeans, a dark blue zip-up sweatshirt and white New Balance tennis shoes.
